This recipe of quick breads uses up bere flour, which I got from Orkney while there.
Ingredients
2 to 3 cups beremeal flour
1 cup plain flour
1 rounded tsp Cream of Tartar
2 rounded tsp Baking Soda
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp yoghurt
1 ½ cups milk
Method
Mix the dry ingredients together. Rub in the butter into the flour mix to form bread crumbs.

Add the wet ingredients and mix together to form a very soft mixture.

Melt some butter in a frying pan on low to medium heat.
Wet your hands and get a large handful of the mix and flatten out. Place into the frying pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

Keep warm until the mixture is used up.
